To celebrate our 5th year each OyG co-director created an original, affordable series of artist’s multiples to comprise a commemorative collection titled Multi-ply. Multiples will be on sale at the party, along with OyG swag like tote bags, pens and more! Proceeds support OyG’s continued programming for 2018 and beyond. Ortega y Gasset Projects is directed by the following artists: Eleanna Anagnos, Clare Britt, Catherine Haggarty,  Eric Hibit, Will Hutnick, Leeza Meksin, Sarah Rushford, Zahar Vaks, and Lauren Whearty. Affordable art collecting will be followed by a raffle (so bring cash!) and a dance party (so dress on up! )

Much has happened in the young history of OyG. Founded in June 2013 in Bushwick, OyG moved to the present location in The Old American Can Factory building in Gowanus, Brooklyn in February 2015 and gained non-profit status in 2016. OyG has been a platform for more than sixty exhibitions, events, and related projects that have been featured in publications such as Art in America, Artforum, Hyperallergic, Art F City, The New Yorker and The New York Times. OyG's mission highlights exploration as the key to sustaining artistic vitality, mounting exhibitions that provoke interpretation and foster dialogue within the artistic community and beyond.

Ortega y Gasset Projects came together as an artist-run space when a group of artists realized how much our selves and our practices were dictated by our various circumstances. Jose Ortega y Gasset’s famous maxim “yo soy yo i mi circunstancia” (I’m myself and my circumstance) deeply resonated with us, and we named the space as a nod to the philosopher’s pragmatism and a sort of realist phenomenology, that came to be know as the “philosophy of life.” OyG Co-Directors thank the exhibiting artists, interns, installers, musicians, performers,curators, writers, and neighboring organizations for the ingenuity, commitment, support, and enthusiasm that makes OyGLOW.
