Rendezvous is an interactive virtual experience that serves as a platform for creative exchange between artists and for human connection across cyber space. Participating artists are paired up by OyG Co-Directors Tiffany Smith and Clare Britt to collaborate on a project inspired by the intersections of the artists’ respective practices that is presented virtually and supported collaboratively. Through Rendezvous OyG aims to foster community and create systems of support for artists across physical boundaries by encouraging interpersonal connections within a virtual space through conversation and creative exchange.

How To: ING, an experimental YouTube Tutorial by Dana Davenport and Poppy DeltaDawn uses both original and found YouTube tutorial video clips to explore what it means to ING: how to do the thing (or how to be the thing).

ing implies the current action or process of a verb. BEING and BECOMING are mainstays of both artists’ practices, and in this collaboration they’ve come together to question how to become that which they already are. In this short video, a collaged jumble of cultural and societal coding such as feminine voice training for transgender women and flirting as expressed by Korean women collides with a host of practical skills like painting fingernails and weaving a basket. How To: ING encourages viewers to follow along with Davenport and DeltaDawn from start to finish. There likely will be no end-result and failing is expected.

Artists Kate Stone and Austin Ballard explore sites both intimate and uncanny. Through a series of physical and virtual hybridizations, Ballard and Stone create an animated domestic space that is both haunting and alluring. Embracing light and shadow, Stone transforms Ballards design objects into looming architecture.

Rendezvous Cameron Kearra.png

Drawing its title from musician Yves Tumor's song of the same name, Gospel For A New Century is an atemporal portal highlighting the detritus of US interventionism, both domestic and abroad. It’s a collaboration between Kearra Amaya Gopee and Cameron A. Granger. Visitors will be granted access to a different archive each day, providing small, timed windows into a number of redacted and distorted histories.

As a part of the project the artists will be hosting an hour long radio show via zoom where they will play anti-imperialist and anti-interventionist tunes, with an open line for anyone that would like to call in and air out their frustrations with the United States. Times and dates are below:
